Arran – Signature Series Edition 2: Barrel Bonfire (70cl, 50%)

Barrel Bonfire is Edition 2 of the Arran Signature Series, a four-part limited-edition series chosen by Lochranza Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. It is a heavily peated Arran single malt at 42ppm, bottled at 50% without chill filtration or added colouring. The whisky was filled into Bourbon barrels in 2012 and matured there for nearly five and a half years. In September 2018 it moved into 115 litre Koval quarter casks from Chicago, where it spent the remaining five and a half years. Smokier notes mingle with charred citrus and sweet vanilla spice, evoking a bonfire made from barrel staves.
