Auchentoshan – 21 Year Old

This is a 21 year old single malt from Auchentoshan, a Lowland distillery in Dumbartonshire. The distillery was established in 1823 and stands at the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking the River Clyde. Morrison Bowmore Distillers took it over in 1984. Auchentoshan means corner of the field in Gaelic. The spirit is triple distilled rather than distilled twice, as is usual elsewhere in Scotland, and this gives a delicate, smooth and light single malt.
