Auchroisk 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery at Mulben, Banffshire, which was founded in 1972. It bottled at 43% ABV and belongs to the Flora & Fauna series, which puts lesser-known distilleries in the spotlight.
The nose is sweet and fresh, with ground almonds, dry marzipan and dark chocolate that move towards milk chocolate. With water, stewed pears and a light oily note appear.
The palate is light and fresh, with a sweet start and a touch of sourness, a doughy, buttery texture, lemon and pineapple, and a faint aniseed and smoky edge. The finish is dry and fairly short.
