This Aultmore is a 12 year old Speyside single malt distilled in 2009 and matured in a refill bourbon cask. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it at 57.9% for its Connoisseurs Choice range.
That range was created in 1968 by George Urquhart, and its single cask and small batch bottlings are always non-chill-filtered.
The colour is lightest gold. The nose has sweet pineapple, vanilla and green apple with delicate jasmine. The palate brings pear, lime marmalade and vanilla custard, leading to chilli spice and oak. The finish is peppery.
