Baglio Florio is a Marsala Vergine DOC from Cantine Florio, one of Sicily's older wine houses, founded in Marsala in 1833. It is made from hand-picked Grillo, the typical grape of the Trapani area, and is bottled in a 50cl format.
The wine is aged for more than ten years in old 300-litre caratelli.
The nose offers medicinal herbs and saline notes, walnut husk, and hints of dried apricot and dates. The palate follows with fruit and a savoury, salty edge, leading to a very long finish.
