Balblair – 12 Years

Balblair 12 Years is a Highland single malt and the entry point to the distillery's core range, which was relaunched in early 2019 with age statements in place of vintages. It matures in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and double-toasted American oak casks. The whisky is pale gold, with a creamy, fruity character. The nose shows waxy peel, sponge cake, soft cedar earth and a little nutmeg. On the palate are juicy red apple and cooked pear, with layers of honey and barley developing. The finish keeps the honey, with milky tea and sultanas.
