This is a 26 year old Balblair single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 54.1% ABV.
The whisky matured in a refill bourbon barrel, number 1884, and the bottling is limited to 153 bottles.
The nose is rich, with red apples, papaya and orange. On the palate it is full-bodied and complex, with juicy mango, sweet papaya, dried banana and a little black pepper. The finish is medium in length, with lemon notes and toasted oak.
