This is a 12 year old Ballechin from 2013, bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured entirely in Jurançon wine casks, which bring the fruit and lift of a sweet wine from south-west France to the distillery's peated Highland malt.
The nose is fruity, with ripe stone fruit, floral honey, fresh herbs and soft peat smoke. On the palate come white fruit, golden honey, gentle spice and a smoky backbone. The finish is long, with honeyed fruit, herbal freshness and warming peat.
