Ballechin 19 Year Old Madeira Cask Matured 2004/2023 (70cl, 53.5%)

This is a peated 19 year old Ballechin single malt, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2023 at 53.5%. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for the full 19 years in two Madeira puncheons, and 1323 bottles were filled. The nose has dried fruit and a hint of spicy cloves wrapped in smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with peat smoke meeting aromatic figs, sweet marzipan and a mild oak note. The finish is long, with plenty of smoke and fruit.
