This is a 20 year old Ballechin, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2024. It is a single malt from the Highlands, presented in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 52.8%.
It matured in a bourbon cask and comes from an outturn of 2,016 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose combines baked apple, strong smoke, caramel pudding and heather, with toasted oak behind. On the palate come campfire smoke, sugared almonds, juicy apples and caramelised nectarine, with toffee and oak spice. The finish is long, with peat smoke, heather honey and vanilla sweetness.
