This is Balvenie Double Wood, a 12 year old Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle and supplied in a tube.
It is matured in two kinds of wood: traditional oak and European sherry oak. That double maturation gives the whisky its name and its character.
The nose is sweet and fruity, with Oloroso sherry, honey and vanilla. On the palate there is a nutty sweetness with cinnamon and spice, followed by a long, warm finish.
