Balvenie – 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask (43%)

Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43%. It was matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks, then finished in casks that had held Caribbean rum. Malt Master David C. Stewart prepared the finishing casks by filling American oak with his own selection of rums. When he judged them ready, the rum was replaced with the 14-year-old whisky. The nose is rich, sweet and creamy, with toffee and fresh fruit. The palate is rounded, with vanilla and sweet oak and a fruity character that develops. The finish is soft and lingering.
