This is a 16-year-old Speyside single malt from Balvenie, finished in French oak casks that previously held Pineau des Charentes.
The Pineau finish gives the whisky a sweet, fruity note alongside the creamy character of the malt. It is a distillery bottling.
The nose is soft and fresh, with honey, pear, white grapes and floral notes. On the palate come light spices, creamy vanilla and apricot. The finish is long and smooth, balancing sweetness with wood.
