A 19 year old Speyside single malt from Balvenie, bottled at 48.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Week of Peat was inspired by a trip to Islay made by distillery manager Ian Millar.
He ordered a batch of Speyside peat for the kiln and had a peat burner built on the side, using smoke from a heavily peated furnace in the way farms once burned peat from their own land.
It is described as rich and earthy smoke that reveals syrupy sweetness, fresh citrus, creamy vanilla and honey, ending in cinnamon and ginger spice.
