This is a 20 year old Speyside single malt from Balvenie, bottled from single cask #0001 as Story 10 in the Curious Casks collection. It is a distillery exclusive at 47.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was peated, made during the distillery's annual Week of Peat, and is described as the oldest peated Balvenie to date. It matured in American oak, then received a long finish in European oak sherry butts.
The character is sweet and smouldering, with toasted malt, toasted marshmallow, dried fruit, warm honey and the soft echo of glowing embers.
