Balvenie – 21 Year Old Portwood Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

The Balvenie Portwood is a 21 year old single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. After a first maturation in traditional oak, which mellows the spirit and builds character, the whisky is moved into port pipes that have held fine port wines. This second period of cask ageing is central to the whisky. The nose combines ripe raisin and fruit with a nutty dryness. The palate is creamy and silky, with fruit, honey and spice, and the finish is long, gentle and nutty.
