Balvenie 40 Year Old Rare Marriages is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled by the distillery at 42.2%. It is a limited edition.
Malt Master David Stewart assembled it from a combination of traditional and European oak casks.
The nose brings honey and orange marmalade with a creamy fruitiness. On the palate there is orange blossom, candied ginger and honeyed sweetness, followed by oak, mouth-coating vanilla and a delicate sherried fruit. The finish is warm and elegant, honeyed with a citrus richness.
