A red wine from Alba in Piedmont made from Barbera. It is deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose has ripe red fruits such as cherry and blackberry, sweet spices, vanilla and a light toasted note from barrique ageing. On the palate it is rich and enveloping, with good acidity, soft texture and persistent finish; the tannins are well structured but soft. It suits roast red meats, mushroom dishes and aged cheeses.
