Barolo DOCG La Villa Seghesio

A Barolo DOCG from F.lli Seghesio, made from Nebbiolo selected from vineyards in the Barolo area. It matures for 24-36 months in oak barrels, followed by further bottle ageing. The wine has an intense garnet red colour with light orange reflections that develop with age. The nose offers mature fruit, especially cherry and plum, followed by tobacco, chocolate and a delicate spicy note. On the palate it is firmly structured, with robust but finely woven tannins and a long, harmonious finish. It suits rich dishes such as braised meats, stews, game and aged cheeses; decant for a few hours and serve at about 18°C.
