Barrell Bourbon New Year 2023 is the fifth annual New Year release from Barrell Craft Spirits, an independent blender in Louisville, Kentucky. It is a cask strength blend of straight bourbons aged 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 years from eight states: Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Wyoming, New York, Texas and Maryland. Matured in American white oak, it was blended and bottled in Kentucky at 113.54 proof (56.77%), as an individually numbered limited edition.
The colour is rich chestnut. The nose is caramel, vanilla, toffee, brioche and baking spice with a hint of fig. The palate is layered and full, with sweet orange, raisin, fig, caramel, cinnamon and vanilla. The finish is long and creamy.
