Heaven Hill Phoenix is an 18 year old Kentucky straight bourbon, released in a 75cl bottle to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1996 Bardstown fire at Heaven Hill.
The fire destroyed the original distillery and several warehouses, and the family-owned company rebuilt. The phoenix on this commemorative release stands for that renewal.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, brown sugar and baking spice with a little dried fruit. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, dark fruit and warm spice. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, caramelised sugar and seasoned oak.
