Rittenhouse Straight Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey made by Heaven Hill in Bardstown, bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It carries the Bottled in Bond designation, meaning it comes from a single distillery and one distilling season and was aged at least four years in new charred oak in a bonded warehouse. The name nods to Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square and the Pennsylvania rye tradition.
The colour is a warm amber. The nose is dry rye spice, black pepper and cinnamon over caramel and vanilla, with dried fruit and oak. The palate is bold and structured, with peppery rye, brown sugar, baking spice and toasted oak. The finish is long and warming, with spice and seasoned wood.
