Elijah Craig Single Barrel 23 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, bottled from Barrel No. 16 on 17 September 2018. It spent 23 years in new charred American oak and is bottled at 45% (90 proof) without chill filtration.
The nose is dark caramel, roasted oak, dried cherry, dark chocolate and brown sugar, with a pronounced barrel char. The palate brings toffee, dark fruit, espresso, cinnamon and aged leather, with a deep oak spice that builds. The finish is very long and warming, with charred oak, dark dried fruit and bittersweet chocolate.
