A 14 year old wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, the Fall 2020 release in the Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond decanter series. It was distilled in the fall of 2006 and bottled in the fall of 2020, at 100 proof (50%), in a 750ml decanter.
As a Bottled in Bond bourbon it comes from a single distillery and a single distilling season, and uses wheat rather than rye as its secondary grain. The decanter follows a 1950s Old Fitzgerald design, with the black label used for fall releases.
The nose is caramel, vanilla and dark cherry over oak and leather. The palate is thick, with honey, butterscotch, dried figs and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, with dark fruit, cocoa and wood spice.
