This is a cask-strength bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits, part of its Cask Finish Series and finished in Armagnac casks. It is a limited edition.
The blend combines bourbons of 7 to 15 years from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, with a mash bill of 78% corn, 18% rye and 4% malted barley. The Armagnac finish adds dried fruit and spice to the bourbon's richness.
The colour is deep amber. The nose brings strawberry rhubarb pie, candied walnuts and cola, with hints of caraway. The palate is dark toffee, dried plums, pecan pie and custard. The finish is long and syrupy, with clove, tobacco, espresso and orange.
