Barrell Gray Label 24 Year Old (75cl, 60.8%)

Barrell Gray Label 24 Year Old is a cask strength Canadian whisky bottled at 60.82% (121.64 proof). It was distilled in Canada, aged in the US and Canada, and bottled in Kentucky. It began with two selections of 24-year-old Canadian whisky barrels, one fruit-forward and tropical, the other woody with a light floral aroma. Part of the first went into Oloroso sherry barrels and part of the second into Armagnac casks. The remainder of both was combined, and the three components were then blended. The nose brings elderflower, maple, lavender, rosehip jelly and candied plum alongside tropical fruit. The palate shows butterscotch, coconut milk, honeydew melon and cider apple, and the finish turns herbal, with tarragon, spearmint and cardamom, ending in a salty minerality.
