Bedford Park Tormore 1995 29 Year Old Oloroso Cask Single Malt (70cl, 43.6%)

This is a single cask Tormore from Speyside, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2025 at 29 years old. It is the third release in Bedford Park's Chess Series, labelled Bc2 Black Bishop, and only 153 bottles were filled, each at a cask strength of 43.6%. The whisky spent nearly three decades in a refill hogshead before a finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead in 2023. The nose offers fresh leather, walnuts, green apples and cinnamon. The palate brings tobacco, polished wood, toasted pecans and blood orange. The finish is very long and drying, with kiwi, honeydew melon and gentle oak tannins.
