Bell's Extra Special is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1990s, filled into a large 4.5 litre bottle at 40% ABV. The label describes it as a blend of Scotch whiskies distilled, blended and bottled in Scotland by Arthur Bell & Sons, a house established in 1825. The nose opens sweet and slightly dense, with butterscotch, light honey and ripe cereal, then pastry, gingerbread and a faint fruity floral note. The palate is round and medium-bodied, with sweet malt, honey, bitter orange, chocolate and toasted corn flakes, balanced by the dryness and spice of oak. The finish is of medium length, dry and spiced, with pepper, liquorice and a very light hint of smoke and tobacco ash.
