A Jamaican rum distilled in 2012 at Hampden Distillery and bottled in 2024. It matured for 12 years, three years in tropical climate and nine years in continental climate, in ex-bourbon casks.
It carries the MJH3 mark, associated with a comparatively low ester content, and was bottled at cask strength. The release is limited to 200 bottles.
On the nose there are balanced ester notes, fermented banana, mango, pineapple, coconut, raisin, wood and some toffee. The palate is powerful and fruity-bitter, with papaya, banana, wood, tannins, coconut, lime and caramel. The finish is long, intense and creamy, with some dry wood and smoke.
