This is a 22-year-old Ben Nevis from the Highlands, distilled on 14 February 1997 and bottled in June 2019 by Alambic Classique. It matured in a refill sherry butt, cask 199, and was bottled at 54.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 481 bottles.
On the nose it is layered rather than heavy, with fruity sweetness, vanilla and caramel, and the alcohol sits comfortably. Vanilla, caramel and nuts follow on the palate. The finish is soft and creamy, ending in dark chocolate with sweet spices.
