This is an 8 year old Ben Nevis single malt, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2024 at 57.1% ABV. It was matured in a cask that previously held wine from the Montravel appellation.
It belongs to the Artist Collective series, and its label carries artwork No. 2410 by the German visual artist Katrin Bremermann. The Ben Nevis distillery itself dates back to 1878, and this bottling shows peaty accents alongside a deep, rounded maturity.
The nose is rich, with dry peat, toffee, orange zest, dark chocolate and roasted nuts, turning floral with iris and hyacinth. On the palate it is peppery, with candied pear, apricot and grapefruit, then malty and ashy. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, soft peat, tobacco and candied ginger.
