BenRiach 10 Year Old is the flagship single malt of the BenRiach distillery in Speyside, in a 70cl bottle. It is drawn from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks after at least a decade of maturation.
Expect plenty of barley, backed by orchard fruit and toasted almonds, with a hint of herbal oak.
The nose is led by citrus, with gingerbread and cinnamon. The palate has fried banana and brown sugar, with strong barley notes throughout. The finish is lasting, with spicy malt and vanilla cream.
