Benriach The Smoky Twelve is a 12-year-old single malt from Speyside in a 70cl bottle at 46% abv. It brings together peated and unpeated spirit that spent at least twelve years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and Marsala wine casks before being married. Master Blender Rachel Barrie chose and combined the whiskies.
It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, its gold tone coming from the casks.
The nose offers smoky vanilla, charred orange and roasted almonds. On the palate, dark chocolate, fruit peel and brown sugar join smoky oak. Cocoa and orange linger in the finish with a smoky note.
