This BenRiach single malt was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2014 at 15 years old and 55.4% ABV. It is a Speyside malt finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon, and is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The outturn was 694 bottles.
The nose opens with honey, sultanas and brown sugar, followed by dark chocolate, dried figs and molasses, with papaya, rosehip and eucalyptus. The palate is creamy and honeyed, with dates, raisins and treacle, oak and spice, and a little sour cherry. The finish is medium to long, with sherry warmth, sultanas and dark chocolate, then drying oak and spice.
