This is a 20 year old single malt from BenRiach, distilled in 2000 and bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2021 at a cask strength of 59.4%. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was first matured in a refill sherry butt, then finished for eight months in a fresh sherry butt.
The nose recalls summer pudding with warm dark chocolate, strong coffee and orange oil, balanced by shaved oak. The palate brings ginger nut biscuits, thin butter pastry, polished oak and cinnamon. The finish is dense fruit cake with baking spices and toasted almonds.
