A 21 year old single malt from Benriach, distilled in 1999 and bottled by Gordon & Macphail for its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 57.5% and is non-chill-filtered.
The whisky matured in a refill American hogshead and was bottled in 2021, with 225 bottles released.
The nose opens with lime zest, tropical fruit and soft vanilla, followed by fresh-cut grass, demerara sugar and a little custard. On the palate come marshmallow, nougat and orange marmalade, with white pepper, citrus peel and soft herbal notes. The finish is medium, with lingering fruit and spice.
