A 22 year old BenRiach single malt at 46%, matured in American bourbon barrels and then finished in casks that previously held dark Jamaican rum.
It was made under master distiller Billy Walker, and the rum casks add dark sugars and spice to BenRiach's characteristic barley and fruit.
The nose is vanilla syrup and baked pears with sweet grist, oak spice and candied peel. The palate brings ripe yellow plums and nectarines with vanilla, ginger and mandarin peel, then wild flower honey and barley for a juicy, lasting flavour. The finish is very long, warm with dark sugar and oak spice.
