Benriach – 31 Year Old 1992/2023 Macbeth Series Act One Menteith (53.7%)

A 31 year old Speyside single malt from Benriach, distilled in 1992 and selected in 2023 for the Macbeth Collection from Elixir Distillers. The series, curated by Livingstone, gives each character in the play its own cask profile. Menteith is bottled at 53.7% ABV, in an edition of 850 bottles. The nose brings ripe apple, apricot and plum with damask rose and lavender. On the palate are woodland berries and sweet vanilla, an oaty texture, roasted almonds and peanuts, and some spice, earthy notes and a faint touch of smoke. The finish is long, with the spiciness of old oak.
