Benriach First Cask 1976 is a 27 year old Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% ABV. It was distilled on 23rd December 1976 and comes from cask 9533, as bottle 12. The colour is light amber.
Older notes describe apples and green bananas on the nose, a sweet and creamy palate, a light to medium body and a vanilla finish. More recent notes find tropical and green fruits, wood spices, soft waxes and resins on the nose, with ripe melon, lamp oil and rye bread. The palate brings hessian, cola cubes, lime oil, menthol and coconut, and the finish has resinous citrus peel, kumquats, lemon sweets and a little white pepper.
