Benriach – The Original 10 Year Old Three Cask Matured (70cl, 43%)

This is The Original Ten from Benriach, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured for at least ten years in three kinds of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak. Together they give orchard fruit, honeyed malt and toasted oak, with a subtle trace of smoke. The nose is rich with orchard fruit, honey and toasted oak. On the palate come ripe pear, nectarine and malty sweetness, and the finish carries almond and spiced vanilla.
