The Original Ten is a 10 year old single malt from BenRiach, built in the Spey valley in 1898. It was matured in three kinds of cask: bourbon, sherry and virgin oak.
The result is layers of juicy fruit, honey and toasted oak, with a subtle hint of smoke.
The nose is fresh and lively, with green fruit, creamy vanilla, mint and a twist of citrus over sweet barley. The palate brings warm smoky wood, green apple and apricot, with hints of pear and banana alongside lemon. The finish is long and spicy, with barley.
