Benriach – The Twenty One Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

The Twenty One is a Speyside single malt from Benriach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from a mix of unpeated and peated spirit, matured for at least twenty one years in four types of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak casks and Bordeaux red wine casks. The whisky from each is then married together. During the long maturation, the sweet Speyside smoke softens and blends with fruit, malt and oak, giving an honey smoke character. The nose offers berry fruit, orchard apple, wild honey and oak spice. The palate brings candied grape, rich cocoa and smoked pine nut, ending on caramelised pear and honey smoke.
