This is a single cask Craigellachie single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2012 and aged for ten years in a refill butt. Berry Bros & Rudd selected cask 2949 and bottled it at 54.3% in a 70cl bottle, with 434 bottles drawn from the cask. It is unchill-filtered and of natural colour.
Craigellachie is known for its traditional copper worm tub condensers. The nose has dried barley, warm hay and shortbread, moving to Oloroso sherry notes, soft caramel and a trace of smoke. The palate is full-bodied and waxy, with barley sweets, caramelised pineapple, citrus, dried fruit and toasted almonds, balanced by cinnamon and white pepper. The finish is long and warm, with wood spice, charcoal and sweet malt.
