Bimber – 4 Year Old Whisky Sponge Edition 45 2017 Single Cask English Single Malt Whisky (2021) (70cl, 57.3%)

Edition 45 of the Whisky Sponge series is a single cask of Bimber, an English single malt distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 at 4 years old. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the first Bimber bottling in the series and the first to be finished. The whisky spent a final 10 months in a Bimber ex-bourbon barrel that had previously held a Brew By Numbers imperial stout. It is described as juicy and feisty, with floor-malted barley, yeasty fermentation character, the warmth of English maturation and strong stout cask influence, and a flavour likened to a marmite and banana sandwich eau de vie.
