This is a single cask English single malt from Bimber, the London distillery, bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 59.4% ABV. Spirit of the Underground Victoria Release No. 2 was fully matured in an ex-rye cask, and 271 bottles were filled, each 70cl.
The release marks Victoria Station, which opened on 1 October 1860, and the Victoria line, which reached it in 1969.
The nose has spiced malt loaf, pickles, vanilla pods, crunchy toffee and custard. The palate brings green apple, dried mango, vanilla cream and cashew, over spiced oak with black pepper, allspice and star anise. The finish is dry and earthy with toffee and fading tropical fruit.
