Bivrost Yggdrasil Single Malt Whisky (50cl, 46%)

Yggdrasil is the first core bottling in the Bivrost range, a Norwegian single malt made and bottled by the Aurora Spirit Distillery near Lyngseidet in Lyngen. It comes at 46% in a 50cl bottle, chill-filtered and with no added colour. The whisky matured for four to six years in casks that previously held Oloroso sherry and were charred again at the distillery. Nordic pilsner malt is combined with peated malt at 55 ppm, and the peat stays a fine note beside dried fruit and roasted wood. The nose offers dried fruit, orange blossom and roasted nuts, with campfire smoke. The palate is velvety, with roasted oak and caramelised mandarin, and the finish is very long and oily.
