Black Bull 21 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky bottled by Duncan Taylor at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and follows a blending recipe that dates to 1864.
The blend is 55% malt and 45% grain, with Speyside and Highland malts matured in first-fill sherry casks and bourbon casks.
The nose brings fresh apple, orange peel, toasted nuts and lemon zest over oaky spice and brown sugar. The palate is caramel and ripe orchard fruit, then nutmeg and clove, with vanilla and demerara sugar. The finish is warm, with black pepper, toasted marshmallow and a nutty dryness.
