Black Maple Hill 18 Year Old is a single barrel Kentucky straight rye whiskey from cask R70, in a 750ml bottle. It was bottled by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, the Willett family's bottling operation in Bardstown, for CVI Brands under the Black Maple Hill label. As a single barrel, it shows the character of one cask after 18 years in Kentucky. Oak, dark fruit, roasted nuts, caramel and spice lead the nose. The palate adds dark sweets to the oak, nuts and fruit, with the rye grain well integrated. The finish is long, with dark sweets, toasted grains, dark fruit and a citrus lift at the close.
