This is a 14 year old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, distilled in 2011 and selected by Berry Bros. & Rudd for its The Auld & The Bold series. It is a single cask, number 308064, finished in a Viognier wine cask, and 264 bottles were filled at a cask strength of 56.9% vol. It is not chill filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers tropical fruit, honeyed brioche, delicate floral notes and a faintly savoury edge. The palate is creamy and layered, with coconut cream, apricot, barley sugar, fresh mint, lemon curd and a waxy texture. The finish brings candied ginger, toasted oak and a floral sweetness.
