This Blair Athol is a 15 year old Highland single malt, distilled in 2008 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at 59.8% ABV as cask 68.122, named A Café in Jerez. After 11 years in ex-bourbon wood, the whisky was moved into a first fill ex-bodega PX barrique for a finish. The barrique gave 262 bottles. The nose suggests chilled dulce sherry and coffee, polished wood, salted almonds, raisins and dried figs. The palate is robust yet balanced, with dark toffee, muscovado, candied orange in dark chocolate and old oak, ending in a spicy finish of nutmeg and clove.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
